Michael Frojman alias Bijou, se définit comme un "Photomonteur".
Ses univers décalés et acidulés commencent à créer un petit phénomène chez les internautes et galeristes d'Europe et d'ailleurs.
Bijou ne s'est pas fait en un jour. Il y a presque une décennie maintenant il était compositeur et producteur de musique, puis il devint designer dans la décoration avant de se lancer dans les applications graphiques.
Les possibilités techniques actuelles lui permettent de créer, de recréer à volonté les saynètes de sa vie intérieure.
Ses rêves, ses fantasmes ou ses phobies prennent corps dans ses paysages oniriques où viennent s'échouer des modèles amateurs.

Les références artistiques classiques (Renaissance Italienne...) sont mixées avec des vibromasseurs positionnés comme des ogives nucléaires.
L'utilisation de la symétrie permet de guider l'oeil comme l'entonnoir au coeur du tableau.
Ensuite vient le temps des détails, on affine, on nuance.
Les couleurs vives et franches permettent elles aussi d'amplifier le propos.
Le tableau se construit grâce à un travail sur les reliefs apportés par les ombres multiples de tout autant d'images.
La recherche d'images sur Internet constitue une part importante du temps de création.
Chaque trouvaille viendra ensuite incarner une étape, un détail, une lumière pour constituer le tableau qui, au final, n'aura rien à voir avec la photo de départ.
Cette démarche est proche du sampling musical où un riff est échantillonné, détourné pour un rendu quasi méconnaissable. Dans le graphisme comme dans la musique, on maquille avec des filtres (effets flous, éclats lumineux) comme on réglerait des aigus.
Dans les deux domaines également, c'est souvent l'instinct qui s'exprime avec son lot de références, ses valeurs et ses tabous.

Bijou est un individu né dans les années 70, nourri  abreuvé, instruit par les médias de tous bords, il s'interroge sur la religion, la sexualité, la place qu'elles ont dans nos vies, grâce à nous, malgré nous.

Aux frontières du graphisme de la photographie et de la création artistique, Bijou nous emmène dans son esthétique non formatée, ancrée dans un quotidien banal et vulgaire saupoudré d'une petite touche de super pouvoirs.

Michael Frojman aka Bijou describes himself as a photographic editor.
                                             
His unique and colourful creations start to cause a small-scale phenomenon among internet users and gallery owners in Europe and beyond.

Bijou was not made in one day.  Nearly a decade ago he was a composer and music producer. Then he became a decoration designer before embarking on graphic applications.

The current technical possibilities allow him to create and recreate at will all the small scenes of his inner life.

His dreams, fantasies or phobia are embodied in his dreamlike landscapes in which amateur models wind up.

Classical artistic references (the Italian Renaissance...) are mixed with vibrators set up like nuclear warheads.

The use of symmetry is a means of guiding the eye in a funnel-like way to the centre, to the heart of the picture. Next come the details, the refinement, the nuances.

The bright and full colours also enable to amplify the topic.

The picture is structured by the relief, the multiple shades of just as many images.

The search for visual images on the internet constitutes a major part of the creation time.

Each discovery will  then incarnate a stage, a detail, a light to constitute the painting which, in the end, has nothing more to do with the starting photo.

This approach is very similar to the method of music sampling, where a riff is first sampled, then modified and ends up as an almost unrecognisable sound. In graphics as well as in music, we apply make up by way of filters (blurry effects, flashes of light) just as we would tune high-pitched sounds.

In both fields, very often the instinct expresses oneself with its bundle of references, its values and taboos.

Bijou is an individual born in the seventies, submerged and educated by all kinds of media. He questions himself about religion and sexuality and the place these issues occupy in our lives, thanks to us, in spite of us.

At the boundary of graphics, photography and artistic creation, Bijou takes us to his unformatted aesthetics, anchored in a trivial and vulgar day-to-day dusted with a hint of super powers.
