Yiorgos Eleftheriades has created forty women’s and twenty-two men’s collections that have been presented in Athens, Paris, London, Milan and Berlin. Based on his love for classical forms and in search for contemporary elegance, he aims to create a truly alternative urban style with interesting shapes, strong tailoring and experimental combinations of fabrics and textures. He is often fond of bringing together contrasting materials – the mat with the glittery, the high tech with the retro, the masculine with the feminine, the luxurious with the utilitarian. Color wise, each collection is usually based on a palette of neutral shades, followed by a strong scheme of intense colors` the result is often offbeat and striking. The main quality of his designing perception is a transeasonal timelessness and a glamorous but cool day-to-night approach. The clothes work in surprisingly divert ways. They may appear minimal and with strong outline when worn matchingly but at the same time when you juxtaposition the fabrics and the silhouettes they are much more consumer friendly and with a softer almost romantic quality.
In 2007 he made the debut of his diffusion line, Collage Social, in cooperation with Shop & Trade, one of the biggest import companies of world-wide known brands.
In 1994 he was assigned the position of Creative Director for 'Grecotel' company in Greece, in which the uniforms he designed are still in use. Throughout the years he has been cooperating with some of the most important directors and actors/actresses in Greece while creating costumes for theatre.
Being environmentally conscious, he has been using natural and eco friendly textiles since he begun.
He is represented by Mc2 commercial showroom and for international press by Totem – Kuki de Salvertes where they are both in Paris.
